1983 K5 Blazer "Big Red"
Thanks for the add. I have been looking for a new project to add to my herd. I was looking for a 67-72 Blazer, but found them to cost more than I have in my pockets. (I own a Jeep "just empty every pocket"). I settled on a rusty 67 K20 Suburban that I am way too deep into now. I have always liked the look of the "square body" style of GM trucks. I found this second owner (since 1986) K5 Silverado local to me. So here we are, starting another rusty project! The K5 was sitting in their yard for about 5 years after the smog checker dude said "no oil pressure gage, no smog test". The engine fired right up, even though it hadn't been started in about a year. The engine is a rebuilt 350, 700R4 trans and undetermined transfer case.

Nice! I've owned a couple of K5 Blazers (in addition to countless other square body Chevys and a '71 K10 pickup) and I've always had a special fondness for them. That looks like it's going to be a great project.
On a related note, I've never heard of failing a smog test because of no oil pressure gauge. Bummer for them, but good for you. |
Nice ride! Looking foward to seeing more!
