3 button 4wd selector switch volume increases on radio lights up
 

Howdy y’all from the most northern part of the state of California I’ve been having issues with getting my four wheel drive to work in my 4door 97 Chevy blazer automatic and 3 button 4x4 selector the issue I’m having is I only get power to the selector switch when I turn my radio up to maximum volume whe n I do this and try selecting 2hi to 4hi nothing happens no noise clicks or nothing was wondering if anybody else has had this issue all the dash lights work just not on the button switch only when I turn the radio up the lights will glow I have removed the dash to check for interference but everything looks good no splits or cracks any ideas?? Thank you

That's a weird problem because those are two completely separate systems. If the 4x4 selector buttons light up intermittently, the first thing I'd suspect is bad connections or bad solder joints in the selector board. Mine was intermittent when I bought the truck, and taking the switch apart and reflowing the solder joints fixed the issue for me.

If you have a multimeter you can also take the switch out and test the wires to check that it is functioning properly when you press each of the buttons.
