Apokalactic Chevrolet
Hey there, I'm Apokalactic. New to the Blazer forums, but a long time Chevy enthusiast. Joined up to see if you guys can help me with some problems I've been having with my new acquisition. I'm a member of the S-10 and Tahoe/Yukon Forums, as well as the Chevrolet Forums. I'm no mechanic or electrician, but I'm fairly proficient with both. My primary skill is welding, and I love doing custom modifications and fabrications to my vehicles.
Here's what I have! https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/blazerf...39056fcc26.jpg Newly acquired, I have a 1996 Blazer LT. This was one of the Auto-Trac versions with the Borg Warner transfer case, and from what I understand, is AWD with no selector. The Vortec 4.3 has 70k on it, and the 4L60E transmission is original at 143k. I'm working to turn this into a daily driver for my girlfriend. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/blazerf...ea120a0213.jpg My 2003 S-10 is a regular cab base model with RWD. It has a 2.2 4-cyl and a 4L60E transmission, sitting at 162k. Upgraded with a cold air intake, electric fan, and DB alternator. I use this primarily as my daily driver and my scrapper. Nothing special on the outside aside from a custom-built rear window guard and over-cab roof rack. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/blazerf...888d395a16.jpg My pride and joy, my Ducks Unlimited Outfitters Edition 2002 Tahoe. It has the Gen 3 5.3 Vortec V8 with 275k miles on it, still running strong. The transmission was replaced recently with a brand new JEGS Performance 4L65E transmission. It has a rough country 7 in lift with various suspension upgrades. Front suspension features a custom built minicoil shock sleeve set to increase shock response. All exterior offroad lights run off of a 12v battery mounted inside near the rear hatch with 2 60w solar panels in the side rear windows feeding it. It has a custom built front and rear bumper assembled from scrap metal and old boat trailers with a Bully brush guard flipped upside down and utilized as a skid plate. |
