Big Neal from the Carolinas
Hey yall. Names Big Neal and I grabbed a 2001 GMC Jimmy, 2WD, 4 door SLE with the V6 4.3 Vortec motor. Previous owner did the following (or at least says he did);
- New fuel pump
- New heating core
- New wheel bearings
- New brake pads all around
- Drums converted to discs.
only 123k on it and its clean, ill be the 3rd owner.
Only real issue right now is the ses light is on and it has a P410 code of secondary air injection system. Other than it feeling a little sluggish, it gets up fine on the road and hwy. After the code is troubleshooted, I reckon Id like for some basic bolt on mods to get some more pep in its step. Hear they got pcm tuners here and if so thats good.
Anyways, I preciate yall letting me join up and I look forward to contributing to the community!

direct quote from previous owner
"122xxx miles
four door
tinted window
towing pkg
v6
cloth interior thats in great condition
power seats, locks & windows
keyless entry/alarm
clean title
it gets about 25 mpg in the city and 30 on highway (Ive seen more like 17 - 19 ish city & 22 - 25 ish hwy. I'd LOVE some comments on consistently observed mileage).
very clean overall
i have since owning it put a new fuel pump, new heating core, new wheel bearings new brake pads all the way around and yes it has disc brakes in all four tires no more drums and all the maintenance is up to date this suv runs awesome, end quote".
Since owning it I have;
- Replaced radiator(rusty bastard), thermostat, pcv valve, air filter (running an amsoil performance filter) and muffler (running a flowmaster 40 series). May need to replace the air pump since I had a code throwing 2 weeks ago but its gone now.
More to come!
