flashing security light not letting blazer crank up
 

I have a 2000 Chevy Blazer and it has the security light flashes no matter what you do to reset it. it will not reset and it wont start and it is also reading my fuel pressure wrong. not sending the whole fuel pressure to motor for it to start either. what can i do to fix this problem?

have you done any work on it lately? esp around the dash area.
look for the steps to do a reprogram on the key.
also could be an ignition switch issue in the column.

try doing the security re learn first...easy to do just take time.

I bought it and drove it one month and it wouldn't start one day, so i started with fuel pump and filter. and then i went to fuel pressure regulator and crankshaft sensor then did the timing chain and it is still doing the same thing nothing has gotten any better. now it is with a mechanic and he can't figure it out either so now down to me figuring it all out.

if it cranks and acts like it has no gas and security light flashes then it is a security issue.
look up the steps for a relearn and search ignition issues...can be causes.

mine had the same issue...took to the dealer...they wanted to find it at their labor rate, i told them to take a hike (they had no idea) turned out to be the harness under the glove box that connected the pcm to the system.

i am guessing no codes. do a search around here on this issue, there are several causes most often electrical. it has been fixed...just have to find out what caused your problem.

i would guess since it just happened one day i would start with ignition switch issues. if you had torn the dash apart i would say start with checking the connections.

i put a computer on it once and it told me that the camshaft sensor or crankshaft sensor went out. when i replaced the crankshaft sensor it has not read any codes since then. no one has touched anything in or around my dash. one day it was running good and then the next it wont do anything. the mechanic can spray either in the motor it runs all day but when he quits it shuts off

I have a new question, it has to do with the flashing security light, about a week before it stopped running i had a blow out on the left back side and it knocked my charcoal canister loose, the question is could this have made the blazer stop running?

There's your clue to a fuel pump problem. Follow the steps in 96+ Fuel System Diagnosis.
