Hello, Just got a 1995 S10 4WD

She is a blank canvas. I have my own ideas Fishing, Hunting, BUGOUT??? looking for more, and welcome member experienced input.

First question, Start up procedure is turn key to the on position and push the starter button, any thoughts as to why this was done??

Will post pics later,

Welcome to the forum!

I'm curious as to what starter button you're referring? Did somebody add one in?

I'm trying to imagine why any vehicle would need a keyed ignition AND a starter button unless the ignition switch has malfunctioned. In which case that would be a real ghetto way of solving the problem. :icon_verzsilly:

Welcome to the Blazer Forum.

Looking forward to seeing this "start button"

My mom and dad had some old VW beetle way back in the day. Something was wrong with the ignition switch, or the wires were undersized or something, he had to add a start button to it.

I forget the details. It was a grey market car, some US features, and some European features. Might have even been 6 volt

It's pretty common in big trucks to have a keyed ignition switch and a starter button. Maybe the previous owner was a truck driver and wanted what he was used to. :icon_oldskewl:
