Just been given an '87 Blazer

Like it says, my mom has just given me her old '87 Blazer. She's the original owner, and it while it hasn't been exactly lovingly maintained, it's what I'd call an ideal candidate for restoration. That is, if it was a Kawasaki Vulcan 800. The only vehicle I know a dang thing about. As it is, I have a truck with a bad coolant pump, a disconnected and damaged heater, a bad oil pan, dented and rusty (not a factory replacement from the first time she effed the bumped up) bumper, along with a slew of other minor to moderate issues, and not a single idea how to go about fixing it. So I came here!

First question. K5, S10, are these non-standard editions, or are all blazers one or the other? Second, where is a good place to find body and mechanical parts? All the places I've been looking either list parts as belonging to a v8 (seems like a coolant pump should be the same regardless, right? *I* don't know, as my bike has been aircooled since I chopped it, and I have no idea on a car). Basically, right this second I need to know where I can find parts, and how much leeway there is on parts. Is there a decent chance that an '86 or '88 part would fit (of course I'll ask first anyways) or do I need the exact model year? Once I get that done, I'm going to need to find a supplier for trim, molding, a new dash housing and glove compartment, etc. Oh, and eventually I would like to have a mechanic drop a v-8 in. But right now I'm going to stick to slightly more realistic goals.

Oh, and by the way, I have a red and white, two door, v6 model with an automatic transmission, passenger seats, and a non-removable top (saw a link somewhere about removable tops, thought i'd throw that in.)

Welcome to the forum. But this area is not the place for asking questions. This is an introduction area. Post your questions in the correct area/sub forum. But to answer one question. K5s are full size. Where s10s are the mid size. Lmc truck is a good place to get body parts

Great. Sorry, not a regular on forums, thought that if I was an under 10 post member I was supposed to stay in the new member area. Should I try to take this down, or just post all future questions elsewhere?
