LD here. New member. 73 yrs old so not too familiar with high tech stuff. If something looks weird, it’s probably operator error.

Just bought 2021 Blazer to tow behind my motorhome. Selling the Jeep. Anybody have experience with towing a 2019-2021 Blazer?

Welcome to the Blazer Forum.

As it is still very new not much experience in the forum.
For towing I would seek advice at the dealership which covers the warranty. Then you should get the correct answer and can take them liable if something unforeseen happens.

Thanks for the input. I pretty thoroughly researched the tow-ability of the 2021 Blazer, which I assume is the same for 2019 & 2020 models. Before purchasing I questioned several dealerships regarding the tow-ability of the Blazer. All but one said it can be flat towed, but one said only AWD can be flat towed. So I checked with Chevy technicians (twice) who confirmed it is flat towable but deferred me back to the dealerships. So on a test drive I reviewed the owners manual which has a section on recreational towing. The manual confirms the Blazer can be flat towed without distinction between AWD and FWD. The manual says to put transmission in N (which automatically engages ACC of the starter system) and to disconnect the battery. You also have to start the engine (after reconnecting the battery) each morning and at each fuel stop, and let engine run about 5 min to circulate fluids through the transmission. I was just wondering if anyone has actually gone through that process.

Do they limit towing distance to a specific number of miles? I know when I had my motorhome, I could drive over 700 miles before I had to stop for fuel. Also, there are many different battery disconnect switches available that would make the task of connecting and disconnecting the battery much simpler.

The manual doesn’t say anything about limiting the driving distance. My MH hold 100 gal of diesel and gets about 8 MPG so I can go a long way between fill ups. But about 8-10 hrs is all longer I care to drive in a day. I may start the Blazer about every 4 hrs to be safe. The Blazer battery is a post type so a battery disconnect can be installed.
