New Girl from NC
My parents recently picked me up a 1999 Blazer. It has issues (they gave about $1k for it). My dad says fixing it up will teach me something and i will be a better adult for it. hmm.... Can you tell he is a Marine?
All I know is it looks like I am in for a few weekends of greasy hands. While my dad will help me and I am always helping him on his truck (99 2500 Silverado that I wish I could have), I will still have many questions for you all. Thanks in advance for the help. |

Welcome. Thanks to your dad for his service.

Welcome, and I agree with Rusty! :)

Thanks all. My dad made me flush the filling system, rotate the tires, and change the oil yesterday. I guess a tune up is next.
I want to know what radio options I have. I like the truck so far, just wish it was 4x4. He says that swap isn't worth it. At least I can haul my motorcycle and hunting gear in it. |
Regarding your radio options: In a 99 your factory radio will be a 1.5 DIN size. Any store that sells stereo equipment will carry the dash-kit, harness and antenna adapters for your truck.

Welcome Kenzie. I'm NC and also have a 99 Blazer 2 door.

Your dad is right! My dad (Army) wouldn't let me even get a license until I learned to work on a vehicle. It has saved me so much money! I still deal with the occasional a$$hat at the auto parts store who think women can't and shouldn't be getting greasy. Welcome and good luck!
