New Guy with Storage Question

Hey. Just bought a 1984 K5 and am fixing to redo the interior. Wondering what is the best way to store the hardtop while I am doing that (and for Spring and Summer purposes). Any thoughts or suggestions?

I've seen guys make a pully system hanging from the ceiling of their garage. It's helpfull not only for storage, but also keeping it out of the way when you don't need it.

Yep, by far the easiest I have seen is hanging it from the ceiling. I need to change my garage door opener arrangement to be able to do this though! LOL I have to go to an opener like the LiftMaster 3800.

I've had two buddies that did it. One had the garage door that just flips up and sticks out, and the other one had a ceiling that went far enough above his garage door to where it fit just fine.

My problem right now is that my garage door opener is in the way. I have ~45" of wasted space above my garage door. It won't be so wasted once I get that new garage door opener.

I would recommend the pulley system, makes for any easy way to remove on those warmer days or easy to put back on when its cold. Make sure it's secured good!

And grats on the 84!

Thanks for the replies! Glad to be here. My carport slants so much, not sure the pulleys will work, but we'll see. I'm going to post pictures once I get the interior re-done; hopefully in a week or two.
