Just wanted to pop in and say hello, I don’t even know what year it is, but I am aquiring a Blazer ZR2 with 4x4 from my father for free. He says he thinks it is a 2000. It needs a good and front fenders from a tree limb, and he said it needs a new motor, upon closer inspection, the ear broke off on the block for starter mounting, then snapped the other bolt in succession. My drill is too wide to fit in there with a left handed drill bit. Has anyone used one of those Danchuk starter plates with success? Really don’t want to pull the engine and replace/repair the block, but that is an option that I have.

I’ve been lurking around a few months, I plan on making my own light bar without resistors, as well as roof rack, front and rear bumpers as well as probably some other things, mostly just sand and snow use with camping thrown in the mix as well. I’m assuming nobody has used the Danchuk, I’ll start a build thread when I get it all ready for it, maybe it will help others that have the starter mount issues, AFAIK, small block Chevy have the same bell housing bolt patterns so this should work, in theory. I’d share a screenshot of the product but not quite sure on the adding photos yet.

Hey guys, it’s been a while, money tied me up on other matters. I have the plate I was talking about, however since I am pushing the transmission back 1/4 inch, I now need to space the throw out bearing 1/4 in forward. Would it be simple to fabricate with 1/4 in plate? Or do you guys have one you’ve maybe used in the past?

Closing thread, for thoseninterested, the starter that is required, to use the plate, won’t go fit by the frame in order to get in place, I believe there is room for the starter in the hole, just getting it there, is impossible without lifting the block.
