New here, not to blazers
Hey y'all, I'm new to the site. I just got another blazer, a 96, 4.6, 4 door 4x4. My wife's uncle gave it to me for Christmas this year and I started a bit of work in it up until I got laid up for knee surgery. I'll pull pics off my phone and get them on here soon.
I've had multiple blazers before and my dad has never had anything except a blazer or s-10, this is the first one I've had that I have any plans for.
About 2 weeks after getting the blazer a lower intake gasket blew, it didnt blow into the engine or any of the intake so none of the coolant was going into important parts of the engine, but it was blowing about a gallon of coolant out every 10 miles. Luckily I got it home, after stopping and buying 5 gallons of water and filling up constantly. That ended up being a 4 hour fix and i ended up replacing all gaskets above that point so it's ready to go for a while.
I started building a brush guard for the front that i can attach my off road lights to (pictures to come).
Future plans you guys will get to see -
- mild lift with 33" tires- it'll mostly be used for going out on horse trails and pulling in timber and logs for building my house and projects
- finish brush guard
- replace rear bumper with custom bumper with spare tire rack
- replace motor with chevy 327 v8 - this is planned for build after the 350 i'm working on is in my camaro - i have most everything for the build and this is a long time out project
I'll be glad to give advice and hope to receive good advice and am happy to be a part of this community!
