Hi All,

I just drove 435 miles to pick up this nice 2004 ZR2. It has 65,000 original miles and looks and drives like new. There is one small bubble in the paint where rust is underneath the paint in front of the rear wheel on the passenger side, my body man estimates $450 to fix, so I'm going to have it done. I paid $6500 for it, which is steep for the age, but the low miles and great condition convinced me. My Dad had two of these trucks in the past and they each went over 250k with just maintenance (but he bought them new back in the day), so I'm hoping it will be a good truck for a long time.

As for rust, be sure to look behind those fender flares, also. That's where I see it start on most ZR2's....lower rockers, and top of the wheel wells.

Definately around the flares, as they didnt seal the best and it gathers water. Base behind each door in front of rear wheels.

one thing I noticed tho, do you have a lot of weight in the trunk? Your leaf springs look a little low compared to the front ride height... maybe see about an add a leaf kit...

I've noticed this in a lot of ZR2 blazers... Definitely prone to saggy rear leaf springs.

Yeah, the body shop is going to remove the flares and check behind them. I noticed the saggy rear end too, it looks worse in the picture because my driveway is sloped, but it is still noticeable. I see this a lot on this blazers. I'll search the forums for information on the leaf spring kit. Thanks!

A nice ZR2 you have.

You bet! Shackles, new leafs or aal, several options. Be sure to get the pinion angle correct if using shackles. Like a lot of God's creatures, age tends to lead to a saggy rear end
