New Member and 98 ZR2 Blazer
 

Hello everyone,
I haven't been a member of a Blazer forum for some time now. Back in the day it was the ZR2.com forum. I did a search for an issue and this forum came up in my results. Looks like you guys are reasonably active and I am renewing my interest in using my truck again. Long story short, life required I stored this truck for the last several years, only brining it out to refresh the fuel, and subsequently the oil, every two years. I have the truck on the road right now for just that reason. I think I will use the truck again next summer for road queen duty and a little light wheeling on the 2 tracks by my house. I have some maintenance things to deal with, and will do a couple before returning it to storage next month. I have always parked this truck in the winter.
Looking forward to exploring this group and learning from your collective experience. Below is a little info about my ZR2 Blazer.

I Bought my 1998 ZR2 Blazer new November 1997 with the full intention of building it into a capable 4x4. 5 years later, as soon as the note was paid off, I bought a replacement vehicle and started the process of planning the build. I can hold my own wrenching on my vehicles, but what I wanted done was beyond my skills and workshop requirements. I worked with a local off-road shop to do the build.
The build results in a nutshell transmission down,
Slip yok eliminator, beefed up transfer case internals, CV drive shafts, high pinion Dana 44 front, Dana 44 rear, 4:56 gears, ARB lockers F/R, and a variety of outer axle parts, modified Rubicon Express triangulated 4 link rear, single triangulated 4 link front, Jeep Cherokee coil springs, 3 inch over??, Trail Ready bead locks, Goodyear MTR 33-12.5-15
Over the years, especially the first 3 we went though some trial and error with way to much error with the front suspension, but the rear has always been fantastic. I had the misfortune of hitting a tree early in the second year. The frame horn took all of the impact on the passenger side, and pushed the axle into the oil pan. We opted for splicing in the front frame clip. 50,000 miles of heavy wheeling since then with zero issues.

Welcome to the site. I was on ZR2.com and ZR2USA.com. Friendly and helpful folks on here, though I wish I had all the information on those two sites along with the site. Huge wealth of information between them all.

They were both good sites with tons of information. Glad to see there is someone around from that group.
