Hi everybody,
First let me say that this forum and the search function has been a life saver for me. I recently graduated from nursing school (RN) and as a graduation present my father in law gave me his 1995 GMC Jimmy SLE 4x4. It was his work vehicle and it was used to haul a trailer and all his tools for the past 5 years. Lets just say its been abused and neglected because its going to need a lot of work but I don't mind because it's my project vehicle. My long term goals are to lift it, put it on 33's, and use it to go trail riding. Right now I'm just trying to undo the years of abuse and neglect. I'll be using this forum a lot and I'm excited to see how this build will go. I'll attach some photos so you can see what I'm working with. (The hood isn't closed in these photo's because the hood latch release is broken and I don't close the until I'm done working on the truck)

Thanks everybody. It is bone stock except for the ghetto rigs, duct tape, and zip ties holding it together haha. Right now I'm just trying to restore the things that aren't working (interior lights, 4wd, and tail gate to name a few) and fix the things that make it dangerous to drive ( all front suspension/ steering, brakes, and tires).

I'm in Palm Beach county. Where are you at?

 

Oh wow, about 4 1/2 hours north of you lol Lake City, about 45 minutes west of Jacksonville & 45 minutes north of Gainesville

 

I've actually never been to Lake City only have driven by it on I-10 from Jacksonville to Tallahassee but I'll be close by coming up soon. I'm heading to High Springs to visit some family and have fun floating down the river.
