Hey - just thought I'd introduce myself. I recently bought a 4 door '98 Jimmy as a daily driver. It's not 4wd (really wish it was), but I couldn't argue with the price. I haven't done much of anything to it yet, but I do have performance upgrades planned. I don't have any good pictures yet, but hope to have some soon.

Maybe oisinirish doesn't know where he is LOL but I know where I am.

I'm in Auckland, New Zealand & wish you a hearty welcome to the forum.

There's no rush to mod your truck. Good things take time. Took me 2 years to get my truck like it is now & I've still got a way to go yet.

Just remember the golden rule - PIC, Pics, pics & more pics. That's what keeps us all happy.

:icon_ditto: I am actually less happy now that you showed up with no pics to share :(
But I throw you a welcome regardless. Just don't let it happen nxt time you are brand new to this forum! :icon_no:

First suggested mod: go to a junlyard and yank an entire 4wd system! it will bolt directly on!

Welcome! to the forum from another Aucklander.
Will be looking forward to the pics. What will the performance going to be?

Becca 11-13-2009 06:16 PM

Thanks everyone :) Once I get a few free minutes, I'll take some pics. So far, I've only had the windows tinted and bought a cheap CD player (along with maintenance stuff).

As for performance, I have the original 4.3 and we're planning on rebuilding it with forged internals. After that, we'll either add a supercharger or turbo along with any supporting mods needed. I also want a 4" lift and better brakes. That's probably about it for performance. I do want to have it painted a different color (it's pewter), upgrade the stereo, get nicer wheels, and possibly work on the interior, but those aren't high on my to-do list right now.
