New Old Guy

Just picked up an 02 2DR/2WD Blazer as a V8 swap project. Gathering parts now for the swap, a 383/700R4.

Welcome to the forum.

Looks to be a fun project!

Search for "Project Sleeper Blazer" in Builds. LS swap keeps fuel injection and computers (PCM and BCM) run everything including gauges, transmission, headlights and other useful stuff. This guy went through several iterations of this build very nicely. Started with a 5.3 and ended up with a supercharged 6.0.

While I've already got the 383, the LS swap is worth looking at for simplicity's sake. I'm a shade tree guy at best, and while I've done swaps before (I put the 383 into the Camaro in the picture, yanking out the 454 for some machine shop spa time) I also have TBI from my Army time and it took me 3 months instead of a weekend... because I can't remember what I've done a dozen times before, so the Camaro is more a Youtube project than a "me." project.

But at 70, I've GOT to have something to do to keep what's left of my sanity, so I figured this is a way to bury myself in a hands-on experience with electronics I know nothing about. I need the challenge.

I'm HOPING it will be. Need something hands-on to do to keep my sanity.
