with a 5.7 supercharged engine from a 95 suburban a big step up
I'm thinking about getting a engine from a 95 suburban that is supercharged, the guy said it as a little over 500 ft lbs of torque and 415 hp. Will I notice a big diifrence putting it in my 2 door 94 fullsize blazer, and is it worth it if I can get it for $1000?

It all depends... If it was done right... and tuned WELL, then it could be well worth it... But it could be a CANoWORMS.. If you do get it... Pictures please :D

depends on what you have to start with... '94 blazer has what, 2.2 or a V6? Yeah thats a BIG step up but mounting, comp or not, trans, transfer case, maybe a TH700 tranny instead of (not sure what they had in '94) tranny

Depending on the mileage of the engine (total and after the S/C install) and if he drove like a bat out of hell or the proverbial old lady, it could be worth it or something to steer clear. Might be worth it just for the S/C and swap it on to your engine. Either way, you should notice a considerable difference as I believe a '94 stock ran around the mid 200's in hp. I would also be a bit concerned about the lower end as forced induction increase the strain quite a bit. |
