I guess you could just plug in the 1/4mi ET and MPH VS weight to get a HP Number that'd be the best.
4500lbs
14.30@97mph was our best on 9-10psi on 93pump gas as she drove it daily.. and she
"My Wife" raced it.
I'd suspect somewhere in the 350-375range at the back tires.?
Didn't plug in the numbers but that seems about right.

Very nice! I have a stock typhoon manifold and turbo here I got for 200$ (cheap!!) with no shaft play or leaks, just fabbing up the rest and getting together the spare cash for a marine intake and injector setup and I will be boosted the same exact way you were in that jimmy here soon, despite all the negativity there is around here about the 4.3L holding boost. It's nice to see someone do something out of the normal and prove everyone wrong for once.

Boost won't hurt a engine.. it's detonation.
If you don't have good intake air temps you'll be very close to detonation very quickly.
Thus the Intercooler being a must have.
Most the end up having engine issues don't get it tuned or have a wide band to confirm actual AFR's.. and leave it in the truck and watch it daily.
Slap on a FMU and pray it sprays enough fuel... and the timing map is unchanged.. the intake air temps on a hot day with a hard pull are over 160+
That all leads to eminate failure.
If you have a conservitve tune..with 0 knock on a hot day.. Good timing map/AFR's
and drive it sensable it'll last a long time in stock form.
We got a few MPG better all setup/tuned/Turbo'd than stock. It's making the engine more effecient. I can't verify that it was "Cleaner" than stock.... It'd be interesting to test the tail pipe emmissions.
Anywho... The tune really makes or breaks most engines. Having lower and more consistant intake air temps will ward off unwanted detonation and give you a fighting chance on a daily driver.

I agree about the tuning being extremely important, and possibly the supercharger being a bad idea on this application. But they certainly arent useless and they do give definate benefits. If not, GM would have never produced the L67 or L32 supercharged 3.8s. I have one an L67 with a GenV M90 supercharger89999999999999999999999999999999999999 99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 9998-------*YRRRRRr9

the supercharger kits available for the s10/blazer are pretty useless, for the exact reasons UR50SLO pointed out.. Non-intercooled they're just forcing in hotter air that is more dangerous, not to mention price vs performance. Even with the marine intake and all fuel upgrades you're lucky to see a 100hp increase with that s/c kit. A stock td06 syclone turbo with fuel upgrades will net the same, if not more for alot less than that. Yes, it's quite a bit of work to get it to work, it's not just bolt on, but you will net more power, and be more reliable.

I think with the right tune you would be fine supercharged. Easier kit to put on, and less maintenance IMO. I havent done anything non-performance to my supercharger since I got my car (Grand Prix GTP) If superchargers were useless or had no benefit GM wouldnt have created the L67 or L32.

You're missing the point, nobody said S/C's were useless, when a motor is designed to be force fed, S/C or turbo, they will perform better, and reliably... The kit offered for the s10/blazer is not a very well put together and performing kit, is what we're trying to say.

no thats what your trying to say the supercharger kit is very well put together it performs very nice and the power is there and when you say price versus power its right around the same price per hp gain if your looking at new parts

the proof is in my future and UR50SLO's setup, when the s/c kit puts down 350rwhp for around the same as a turbo setup, then it'll be worth the money. Price vs performance, theres no comparison between a turbo setup, and the wynjammer.

I never said it wasn't a quality made kit, it does what its suppose to do, great, but it doesn't do it as safely, and reliably as it should.

how do you know do you have one and lets talk about detonation i dont have any detonation problem and the high airtemps i dont have either and besides the the wynjammer is not suposed to be used for racing so maybe the high temp detonation thing that ol boy was talking about was maybe somebody had some cheap headers heating up the engine compartment leading to high airtemps and detonation on the race track and i would like to read that myself being that i havent read anything bad about them other than some bearing issues that occoured a few years back that was contributed to a bad batch of bearings purchased
