31's do fit with only torsion bars lift.

Now, I haven't had a chance to off road much yet, but with a torsion bar lift and nothing else 31x10.50x15's Goodyear Wrangler Authority's (just like every 31 I have owned measures a little bit over 30.75 inches on the stock rim) on stock wheels do fit and don't rub in the front.

They look like they will rub, but I will take some pictures here in a bit, and show some of the mild offroading it has been through so far with only the back rubbing. in the back when flexed they do rub but I have 2" shackles that still need to be put on.

As far as ride, ride is excellant. Twisted the bars up all the way on one side and backed out 1 turn and level the other side with it, and with the Bilstein shocks I think it rides as good/better than stock.

PICS WILL BE UP IN A BIT. HAD A VERY BUSY WEEKEND (had to buy tires for 2 vehicles, got the transmission out of the celica on the garage floor, spent 4 hours getting tires on the blaze cause WAL-MART effin blows).

awesome! glad this worked for you.

Yep, I've always bought 31's for all 3 of my previous 4x4 S10s. I've also always had air shocks on the rear to level out the rig. They do rub every now and then (tight turns/wheeling), but I've never had a issue. Only reason I'm not running them now is these tires were on this rig when I bought it.

How was the power difference when putting them on? Like the low end difference? Im looking to put 31's on and regear down the road. Can you post and pics too please?

gopher_6_9 02-21-2011 07:46 AM

Power, man for the way I drive there was vertually no differance. You have to understand I am 27, the wild days are behind me (I had a 306hp ford ranger 2wd with 100 shot, 88 4x4 with the same motor, I have had mustangs, I have had blah blah blah) so I am not saying it didn't lose power, but nothing bad, for the way I drive, which is mostly 100 miles a day to an from work at 60mph.

Pics are coming, I didn't get a chance to get them taken and posted last night. Family obligations come first.

After a little more driving if I flex it hard (20* hill with a 45* approach angle) it will rub the rear inside inner fender. I think the 2" shackles will fix this. If I am wheeling it hard and turn all the way I can get it to catch something in the front, I think it is sway bar, have a little more looking to do here.

leeclark 02-21-2011 02:46 PM

mine has 31x10.50 bfg tires and they will rub on a hard bump and i have shackles on the back and the tbar lift on the front. only way you can get it where it wont rub is body lift or cut on the fenders a little bit.

Sorry guys, I don't have pics up yet. I am Tool control S c/o at a prison and it is dark by the time I have been getting home. I may make it home in time tonight I don't know. If not, I will be off Fri. Sat. Sun. I will defiantly have some pics up then (should be some off-road pics as well).

I don't know why some of you have problems running 31's, I know of several around here (non ZR2 running it, the only one that had major rubbing problems was one running a set of 15x10 wheels.

Is there some other "HD" suspension the dealer around here might have ordered on most of the 4x4's... Is it a 2 door thing? here are my RPO codes from compnine any really stand out? Possibly the z85?

I just picked up a used set of 31's, don't think they would've fit at stock height though.
