is 33s good enuff for mudding
 

i have a 2000 gmc jimmy 4dr 4wd im wanting to jack up my tbar 2"s 2" rear shackels 2" suspension lift from rough country and 2" body lift and a 2" add a leaf a low buck lift sytem i hope tall enuff to clear 33s is that tire size good enuff for any mudd riding i new to off roading and will my idea work any help or ideas will be great.

33's will be fine, but remember you have to trim your fenders because they are going to rub when you go off road. Georgesblazah has 34's with a 6" lift and 2" body and his fenders are all cut up. And he still rubs. But then again he thinks his blazer is a submarine.

ya you will defiantly need to trim the fenders. You dont have to have 33s to go mudding. My 31 that are fairly worn still work great

33's are plenty fine.

what about the lift kit idea will it work

For a 5-6" lift your looking at between $1300(Trail Master) and $2000ish (Superlift). If you are just getting into it I would try a 2-3" body lift, 1-2" shackles and a mild 1" tbar crank. With that you can fit 31" tires pretty comfy with no fender trimming or 32" tires with some fender banging. Of course if money isn't an issue go with a 6" lift, 3" body lift and rock some 33's! Don't forget to change your front and rear gearing or you will feel pretty gutless(more $$$). Blazers on 31/10.5/15 are plenty of fun though...

I did plenty of mudding on 31's. Depends more on the tire than the size unless you are talking about really DEEP mudpits.

I wouldn't go bigger than 31"s. Anything bigger and you are going to open a pandora's box of "one thing leads to another problems".
Example: even bigger tires = even more lift + more fender hacking = less power = engine mods = strain on tranny = tranny cooler + new gears ratios = big bucks + etc...etc...
And don't forget about those brakes trying to stop tires much bigger than they were ever intended to.
But hey... even I don't always listen to myself... I am considering a straight axle conversion and 33"s as we read this.

Ummmm...that is called modifying a vehicle, which is usually a never ending quest. Of course it will cost more money.

Sorry, I'm just not following your logic on this.

The OP does not have a ZR2 so his options are reduced if trying to go larger than 31". I think that is what bandidolenny was getting at.
