4WD working, but......

Hey everyone. I seem to be having a couple issues with the 4WD on the truck. I will list them:

1. I have a Posi-Lok cable for my front axle. Why is that that it seems hard to engage? When the t-case is in 2HI, it locks in after a while, but then makes a "knock" noise when it locks in. I find that it locks in easier if I get up to 10-15 while pulling the handle and then stopping. In 4HI, it is alot more difficult. Anyone else have the cable and have this issue?

2. It seems that I have slack in the drivetrain. When I have it in 4LO, it seems that the engine has to "catch up" with the rest of the drivetrain when I hit the gas from idle when the truck is moving. It seems that my U-Joints are fine (I checked the front one myself when it was in 2HI and there wasn't play between the driveshaft and the differential. I just had the pinion seal replaced in February and they would have told me if there was an issue.). What else could cause it? The fluids in everything are new and they get changed often.

3. Why does it seem so hard to stop when it is in 4LO? My brakes are a bit weak as is with everything new (but it stops fine in 2/4HI and I had a mechanic check the brakes before my trip last week and they were fine) (master cylinder, all pads, all rotors, all calipers, all hoses, most metal lines) even with everything rebled a few months ago, but in 4LO and 1, it seems to not want to stop. Is that normal?
