4X4 LIGHTS HELP!!

Hi I have a 1997 chevy blazer with a sun roof, and i have a stock roof rack, i am wondering if i got lights drilled on it if that would work? or would i have to get a bar, im hoping I dont have 2 get a bar and can just put them on roof rack, please help!

You can drill into the stock rack and wire it up just fine! The problem with doing that is that for most lights, the stock cross bar is too far back to effectively aim the light beam. Check out kiwiblazer...he modded his stock rack to let the crossbar move farther forward for better placement. But there are plenty of blazers on here with lights on the stock rack in stock position.

not to totally go off subject but i was looking threw your pics kiwi and noticed you have side blinkers on your truck. Did they come like that or did you add them?

RE: 4X4 LIGHTS HELP!!

Side blinkers are mandatoryin Europe. My Blazer is exJapan. It came with ugly orange ones - see pic (all GMvehicles I've seen including a cadillac had these same lights)
I didn't like them & bought a pairofside lightsfor a VW Golf. A bit of dremel work & much nicer. (the bulb is orange/amber)

RE: 4X4 LIGHTS HELP!!

no they will not look in my sig and the pics i posted above my 4 are drilled into the stock racks with a nut and bolt on each light securing them. I have done around 80-90mph for hours with these things on (road trip) plus i have been threw more car washed then i could count. One car wash i went threw didnt want to put my car threw cause they said others have had there lights blown off and they didnt wanna take the risk i was like listen put it threw if it breaks i fix it. It went threw that time and many more without them even budging.

These are the ones i have they are cheap look good and work great!

I dont likw the look of circle ones makes the trucks look like mickey mouse lol. But as you can see there is a solid bolt running down the center of the lights which is where the nut gets tighten. It holds them on very good

gettin my lights put on the blazer tyonight! i have them on just needs the wiring done! i drilled 3 holes in my roof rack for my lights to go in. they are secure and i have gone 135 km h and they havent budged. i cannot see the rood rack breaking. They are ment for this

bammontana 03-10-2009 12:00 AM

If you don't want to keep them on the roof rack, you can always get a roof cargo rack and use that for the lights:

hey i got 4 of those blazer lights from walmart and 2 relays and wired them all up and only 2 of the lights work, nothings wrong with the other switch or relay cause u can hear the relay turn on wen u flip the switch but it is much quieter than the other one. i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what might be the problem. your help is much appreciated. thanks
