350 vortec transmission on a 4.3l vortec
I have a 98 s10 zr2 extended cab with the 4.3l v6 vortec and was wondering if the transmission from a 97 Yukon (350 v8 vortec) would work. Plan to use the tease as well because both trucks have the electric 4x4 but couldn’t find a driveshaft to fit the s10 due to a solid axel swap. Any help would be appreciated.

I don't believe the trans will work with the transfer case in your truck, the bolt pattern for joining the two is different. The one in your truck has a 5 bolt pattern and the donor has a 6 bolt pattern.

I think he's talking about using both the transmission AND transfercase from the Yukon
I haven't done much research into it yet, but this is something I've been throwing the idea around for myself, using a transfercase for a full size. I have a 4L65e to pair with my future LS swap, my stock transfercase is already seeping fluid from the casing, so I want to replace it anyhow, figured one from a full size that comes bolted up to a V8 platform may be a little stronger. But again, haven't looked much into it yet... Mounting it would be the easy part, I'm just not sure about driveshaft compatibility and wiring to make it work.

i'd recommend a 4L70E for any sort of swap personally. 4L60s are known to be fragile at moderate torque loads.
