best blazer for off road and occasional street

hey guys i was wondering what k5 blazer year is best for off road, ive always driven a silverado and i was gonna get a campershell to protect all my toys when i go out off the grid but decided i would rather have a blazer with the old removable shell, tell me what you know

They were basically the same truck from like 73 to 91 just different engines and such. See what's out there

the older the truck the less hassle you have with electrical issues everything is more simple than the newer ones. hard to find an old one without rust thou

ya do you know if any of them have same 5.7 v8 thats in 93 silverados? i know that engine back to front by now

most of them have the 5.7. some had the 6.2 diesel. not sure if some had the 5.0 I know my friends 92 1500 did

If you got a newer one like a 91 it will have the tbi 350

alright thanks, i like how the top comes off on the older blazers, ive always liked older trucks too

Granted the 350 engine merged into the 5.7L, however they are not the same engines. Theres enough differences that they are externally different engines. Most notably carb verse fuel injected.

Also the trannies changed over the years. The older TH350 doesnt have overdrive like the 700R4/4L60.

However the early '70 models are the coolest of the K5's.

One last thing, the early 70's models also had full time 4x4.
