How to recover a blazer from the rear?

My 2002 blazer doesn't have a hitch receiver. I have the bumper hitch which I guess I could always put a D-Shackle through, but if I ever need to tow someone out or get towed out from the rear, what would be the best tow point to use? Also, if i were to fab up a tow bar for the back, what would be the best place to bolt it to?

A factory bumper won't take much abuse from my experience! The best solution would be to get a hitch and use a d-ring. I got my hitch in almost new condition from a picknpull for $25. Is there a reason you don't want a hitch?

It's not that I don't want a hitch, it's just that I don't want to pay $75 for one if I'm not towing anything. But maybe I'll do what you said and try to find a junkyard with one because $25 is a steal!

Yeah mine was in almost new condition and it came with hardware. A hitch will be your best and safest bet. Snatching stuck vehicles can be incredibly dangerous if not done properly.
