i have been wondering

sorry for the no caps and stuff not to big on correct sentences and such

butttttttt
ive been wondering, if i took a brush guard off of a lets say

ford ranger, dodge durango dodge dakota and other small truck/suvs

would it fit? with custom mounts

Benedict1337 09-15-2010 01:40 PM

you could probably make it fit.

m3ch 09-15-2010 02:11 PM

thats what i was thinking but then made me think how strong would it be

Benedict1337 09-15-2010 03:59 PM

well I have about the crappiest brackets for my bull bar from ebay... and it does shake but it holds up ok. now I know the full brush guards have a mounting point down by the frame and also a supporting bracket right above the bumper. If you are feeling creative I say go for it.

m3ch 09-15-2010 05:29 PM

yeah but i dont have tools available to make my own brackets

the main problem you would run in to would be if the shape itself fits, durangos new and old have way different shapes than a blazer, it probably wouldnt look good. somethin for a ranger or explorer might work because theyre closer is size and shape... good luck and i hope for your sake u have good fabrication skills lol

i got my guard off a cherokee sport. it was bumper mounted to the cherokee at the yard.
some angle grinding/cutting and then some 1/4" steel angles to the frame and taa daa.
holds up just fine. mind you i am a mall crawler though.

well............................turns out that the brushgaurds and the spare tire holders..............are a rarity around here
