Offroad Questions for a newbie :P

So yeah, i am New here...

and i have only been driving for 4 years.
Not a lot of that was offroad either.

So i got my blazer and i began offroading. Going places i am not used to but people would consider to be nothing..

The first vehicle i ever did ANY offroading in was a 1994 Explorer which is a slug...

So i am wondering in Comparison...

How does a Stock 2000 Blazer LT fare against a 1994 Explorer XLT?
Be honest... Like, is there anything i should really know about the blazers or any advice for offroading :P

Keep in mind i do have some pretty good sense as my father and brother always took me offroading :P

I've never driven an explorer, but I would think they would be pretty comparable to our blazers. They are roughly the same size, ground clearance, etc.

If you have good tires on your truck, they can be pretty decent off road. IMHO, their biggest weakness is ground clearance.

The Blazer has more power, but only because they all upped the power in the mid 90s. The two have pretty much the same design. Oh, and ford sucks. :D

find some friends to go with. you can be running a fullsize chevy on 46 inch tires and there are places you can get that thing stuck

If you aren't getting stuck, you are trying hard enough!

unfortunately where i live that is easier said than done :/
Not to mention offroading here is slim pickings. More like old "deactivated" logging roads...
(deactivation = 2 foot hill, steep decline into ditch)
or "deactivated" gravel pits (got my 92 ford escort past)

mind you... there may be some places... i am surrounded by old mines.

i find theres a huge difference between the exploder and the blazer off road. i had a 99 exploder got it stuck any time it left the pavement only being 2x4 didnt help but ive taken my 00 blazer into worse mud and didnt even need 4x4 thats my experience though
