I've followed and lead Land Rovers to places they didn't expect to go with a stock Blazer on 30" MT's with the rear locker.
But for the real heavy stuff I still use my lifted, double locked XJ on 33's with the 4,56 gears:icon_headbang: Especially since the XJ has a full roll cage and race seats/harness fitted.

That was my first decent hill climb.

My truck sucks for pulling people out..for some reason, I dont have enough power to even spin my tires if I'm trying to pull someone out.

s10 blazers r tuff lil rigs. power to weight ratio is there, unless u have the 4 cylinder, and as far as weight distribution goes...its there too. i never really towed any heavy loads with it, but it would pull 2 700 waverunners around no problem, and i have pulled a lot of bigger rigs out with mine stock and its definately a good wheeler, if it can keep traction. now that mine is solid axled, locked up front and rear and geared to climb trees, i cant wait to see what she can do now. overall, s10s rock!!! :icon_teeth:

My 93 blazers pulled an empty rolloff down my driveway (in 2wd) cause the truck couldn't get in but totally failed and didn't think about having it loaded but 4lo handled it great since my buddy's 98 sierra 1500 couldnt

Thats why you have to do what i did and upgrade to some hooks off of a full size
The full size hook on top and factory one below, you can see the difference in size.http://i756.photobucket.com/albums/x...0Hooks/101.jpg

Inspired by this and disappointed the junkyard wants $75 for the G80 i picked up a set of hooks off a Sierra for $5 :)

as far as towing goes...

these blazers will pull it but destroy themselves doing it.

i've pulled full size cars/suvs behind mine with car dollys. i've also pulled stuck trucks that were hooked up to farm implements..

long story short 2 transmissions later:icon_doh:

i'll leave the big stuff to the 3/4-1 tons.:icon_wink:

When I had a 98, I pulled a lot of cars (on 18' trailer) with no problems, the biggest vehicle was a 92 Jeep Cherokee, I just took it slow and steady and it performed like a champ. I even got 16 mpg while doing it, which really suprised me. And as for mudding, if you have good tires and you dont bottom out and end up sitting on your frame, they do great, lol.

I believe it was for the 3rd member

The thing we have unlike a lot of other (modern) SUV's is a frame on body confiuration. Toyota just got back to a frame on body configuration because it's more "off road worthy"
We have a full frame & that does mean a lot & it proves it. Some SUV makers don't go that way for fuel ecomony etc. & that's Welcome to 2011! But we do have a solid sub structure, we have the possibilities of a SAS & they work with a dana 44 in my tastes.
Gas/mileage worthy? Not a hope in hell. But it's fun having it, & they work well.
I've pulled out a Freightliner, a 10,000lb forkilift numerous times & many others.

It's all about what you know & are capable of - in a common sense sorta way.

I could probably pull out that Freightliner with a 1987 Honda Civic given the proper strap & momentum etc lol
But it was better with my Blazer
