Tires
hey i got a 2000 ZR2 Blazer and im about to raise it up about 4 in. and i was wondering about getting some more rugged off roading tires. i was thinking about some 33s and would like some help. what are some good tires that wont break the bank. now i understand that any 33 in tire will cost probably about $700 but i just want to hear what are you favorite tires. im looking for more aggressive.
thanks guys |
I just purchased the Big-O Big Foot tires. Seem pretty aggressive to me. What I really wanted was some Goodyear Wranglers or BF goodrich Mud terrains.

Take a look at MasterCraft tires. Made by Cooper and reasonably priced.

I love my Kumho's And they did great the first time out!

Look at some general grabber at2's. They look like BFG all terrians but are typically less money. Plus i have heard some very good things about them

try lookin at interco(super swamper) ltb's. the 33x13.5 size is like $160 a tire which is really cheap, and they're better than tsl's in the mud. the catch is that they're bias ply.

Bfg km2 ftw

How are you going to raise your blazer 4 inches? Body lift and super lift? Body lift and t-bar crank. Just curious..........
|
Grabber AT2s, you wont be let down.
|
Look into Hankook Dynapro M/T's my brother just got some for his 4Runner and they were very cheap compared to BFG's, Cooper's and Goodyears. They do great in the mud one of the members on here has them on his white Blazer with a 5-6" lift but I forget his username.
|
I had the Hankooks, on my work truck ('00 Chevy 1500 4X4 V6).....as long as they touch the ground more than your frame you're in good shape! Pretty sturdy sidewalls too. They lasted an entire "rock" job. Probably 10k miles in mud and rock.
|
Ya the sidewalls on the Hankooks are quite impressive. They have a 1/4"-1/2" raised lug on the side for added traction. My brothers 1996 4Runner Limited with a 3" lift and 305/70/16 tires is making me feel pretty small now! Another nice tire is the Cooper Discovery S/T or S/TT depending on how much you want to spend, we had the S/T's on a few of our Dodge 3500's and they gripped anything really well.
