Default The Cheep HP

1. K & N intake or something that compares to it. $50-$200
2. Get rid of the clutch fan and get electronic radiator fans. $50 tops from a you pull a part/ junk yard. The expensive part of this is the wiring.
3. I assume you have a 4.3 Vortec? If so new spark plugs will be cheep and gain a little
4. Throttle body spacer $20-$100 I think never really looked into it
5. I have heard of people getting exhaust systems and gaining some power but they are expensive for what you gain.

Throttle body is a waste of money does nothing since your injectors are after the spacer. Cold air intake also a waste. Computer adjusts for extra air but it does make it sound a bit meaner. High flow exhaust may help. Electric fan is a yes. I have bigger wires and a higher voltage coil which I believe helps. Last thing is after your done playing with engine upgrades send your computer out to be flashed.

Yay. another one of these threads.

If you want cheap. NOTHING PERIOD.

kids think a intake and exhaust is 50 hp. Sorry. maybe 5-8.

either spend the money and get intake, exhaust, tune, and a cam. you might get 50. then you got 200 bucks in springs and work done for that cam. and then you will spend 800+. get some 3.73 gears to help pickup at take off,but loose some highway takeoff. thats another 3-400 bucks.

want good hp gain? spend $1500+ on a v8 upgrade then another 400 bucks on gears, maybe 500 on a"good" torque converter (lets wait for another thread lol) and you might be happy. im in no way bashing you man. but experience is everything. ive got a lil of it.

3. I assume you have a 4.3 Vortec? If so new spark plugs will be cheep and gain a little. Nothing unless they are worn out. maybe 3-5hp.
4. Throttle body spacer $20-$100 I think never really looked into it. 0 hp. period. If it was carb'd or tbi. you might get a few ponies since it gives it more time for fuel mixture. but for direct fuel injection. 0. (since fuels directly injection, whats a spinning air or more space in the spacer going to do?)
5. I have heard of people getting exhaust systems and gaining some power but they are expensive for what you gain. maybe 5 or 8. MAYBE 10 if you get a h or y pipe done.
pretty much it. excuse my double post.

All you need is a bunch of stickers from performance companies (5-8 hp each), a huge exhaust tip on stock exhaust (at least 20 hp), and some kind of junky pep boys spoiler (40+ hp). You're at well over +100 hp if you do all this!

Oh, and don't forget to add some octane booster, you'll need it with all the extra horsepower you just stuck on!
