"murdered" refers to being all blacked out, tinted windows, headlights, taillights, etc.
|
Ah. I'd love to go for that, but I think having blacked out lights, the cops would be all to happy to pay be a visit. ;-)
And so far I removed all the chrome, so it's kind of murdered right now |

My WIP thread for my paint progress.

Primer on the driver-side fender.

Rain, ftl. http://i20.servimg.com/u/f20/16/50/19/15/100_1713.jpg I think rain got into my can. The lid doesn't actually fit (fail). I'm debating, when this is dry, just sanding it all off and go for gloss black. I like flat black, but I really want to go for that gloss black/red two tone. ------------------ update: http://i20.servimg.com/u/f20/16/50/19/15/100_1714.jpg Wet sanded with 400 grit. Once dry, I'll do 2 more coats of primer and wet sand with 600 grit. |
Hey, you're doing what I did lol. Rustoleum rocks! So far my paint has held up, and its been almost of year of it just sitting. The best thing about these paintjobs is if you come out from Wally World to see some Ignorant person let their cart scrape your truck... just whip out a spray can and fix! lol I wish I had pictures of my dad's truck now that its painted. He used Gloss Rustoleum and it turned out pretty good.
I went the Paint Gun way for my paint coats. My dad already had one for his K5 so I didn't have to buy anything but the paint. |
yeah, its pretty easy to fix!! and yours looks good!

Thanks!! My test vehicle was a Mustang that uh... my truck got angry and punched its left eye and nose in. lol. I went the lazy way on my truck and just sanded down to the original layer of Primer... and then painted lol. My theory was, "Eh, its a truck" lol. You never know, you might start to like the crinkled paint look. lol ...maybe |
Progress due to nice weather.
In the morning I painted the bottom's of both sides. I had lost my masking tape, so I couldn't do near any windows http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_...4045_large.jpg Bodywork updates (Dents) http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_...4043_large.jpg http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_...4042_large.jpg Started masking the windows, door handles, and lights. http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_...4044_large.jpg And the primer! http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_...4046_large.jpghttp://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_...4047_large.jpghttp://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_...4048_large.jpghttp://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_...4049_large.jpg |
