1999 Blazer Front Seat Rebuild
I have a 1999 Blazer with cloth bucket seats and the front seat padding is crushed down. LMC Truck has a seat rebuild kit that has foam material, reinforcing material, hog ring pliers and hog rings for about $35. Has anyone tried to rebuild their seats or used one of these type kits or should I just hit an upholstery shop for the materials? I'm trying to keep cost down so replacing the seats is not my first option.

Though I have never rebuilt a seat if it were me I would call around to get quotes from upholstery shops then check out the local pick and pull for a different seat. If the cost wasn't much higher I would get it done by a professional or get a used seat. IMO.

x2, I dont know were you are from but even here in canada you can pick up a seat at any you pick for 25 or so bucks.

I took my seat apart the other day to fix the adjustable lumbar support (wish I took more pictures) it wasn't too complicated... especially if the kit from LMC comes with instructions, I was just going by guess work!
...basically anywhere where there are contours in the fabric the seat cover is held in place with velcro.. just a matter of pealing the velcro apart, and not pulling it off the foam.. So fairly easy, I'd say; assuming that you don't want to reupholster it |
