2000 Jimmy Frame Rust

Not really doing modifications, so hope this is the right subforum. I was wondering what everyone thought about the rust condition on the frame of my truck. It looks pretty bad to me, but I don't know much about body/frame work. Does this seem so bad that any repairs would have to be done with the body off the frame, since some problem areas are probably hidden? I like the truck, but if something like that would be needed, it's not worth it. I have some other posts on here, one about my A/C, but I'm not going to spend $600 just to get the A/C going if this rust thing is as bad as I think. Or maybe it's not. What are the options here? Thanks for all your help.

I reseized the pictures to be the same as the first one, don't know why the rest are so big. Sorry for that.

Naw, IMO that isn't anything you need to worry about. Most blazers look like this. My jmy is was worse but a few year back I cleaned it up and put some trick bed liner on it. Keep an eye out for other blazers and I'm sure you'll notice they have similar issues.

What was the fix you used? I assume you must sand a little first, and then put some sort of protectant on it. Is the sticky at the top of this forum the procedure I should look into doing? Thanks!

I used a grinder and a wire wheel on a drill to clear out all the rust. Then, I used some roll on truck bed liner ( you can use Rhino liner,Duplicolor, line-x there's many options.) that should keep it looking and minimize the chance for the rust to spread.

best way is to use POR 15

cheap way : buy rustoleum rust reformer. then use that spray on undercoat/bedliner

Pretty common, not much to worry about but I would suggest you check your brake and fuel lines for corrosion. It is something I am starting to think/worry about.

Thanks for the responses guys. Will check the fuel/brake lines tomorrow.

Yeah, I had to completely replace all my fuel lines that ran alongside the frame rail.
