92 s10 blazer fender alignment
I got into a little accident and I had to replace my passenger fender of my 92 s10 blazer. I put the new one on and i cannot get it to align correctly so my tires rub quite alot when i turn right. The lower half closest to the door theres a big gap and the top is really close to the door. Im not sure if there was a bolt underneath securing it closer to the door. The front top hole aligns perfectly then i try to fasten the other ones evenly it always ends up slanted \ if anybody has some quick tips or something i could do to fasten it closer it would be appreciated.

Have you taken the measurements all around the truck to figure what has been bent? This sounds like either the replacement not being the correct fender or the frame having gotten a hit too.

Try looking for the GM outfitters manual for the 92. Sometimes you can find those as PDF.
It normally includes all the frame measurements. |
When adjusting fenders I always start with the upper rear bolt, then move on to the lower rear bolt to get my door gap set. From there I do the front upper bolt to set my hood gap. Then go thru and tighten up the rest/make minor adjustments with them. That was the standard procedure I was taught when I started doing bodywork, and it never failed me.
Also keep in mind aftermarket fenders almost never fit properly without slight modifications.. Either way, it would be wise to check your measurements as error 401 said. X measure the front end to ensure it's still square. That'll be the easiest/quickest way to see if there is an issue. |
String method for alignment also works on the body.
Just set it up on the body to frame mounts. I use a nut over the bolt on the support and a yardstick towards the string. Needs two pair of hands thou. |
