AMPF #20 Fuse. What for?
 

I was playing around with my fuse box inside the blazer today, and I saw a fuse missing in slot #20, and I checked the diagram and it's the ampf fuse. I have a bunch of 20a fuses laying around, but I was wondering what does the AMPF fuse do? Do I need it?

Well.. after going through several pages of your previous posts to determine you are indeed talking about a 1999.. here's my conclusion:
IP fuse #20 is for the OE premium sound system amplifier.

Just like it says in your owners manual. Which is available at
GM Extended Warranty the direct GM Protection Plan (GMPP) source.
if you dont have one.

Yeah, it's a 99, sorry I forgot to mention that lol.

And ok, will this change the sound at all?

You think it's funny? We try to help folks out here and I dont mind doing research because I learn from it, but that sort of research is totally freakin unnecessary and frustrating.

What do you think? You could trying to stick a 20 A fuse in there and see for yourself.

Then read my sig line and try to figure out why there would be a fuse position labeled for a circuit that isnt there.

I threw in a 20a fuse, the sound changed a bit and it sounds a lot better now, I don't know why they had it out in the first place. Thanks buddy!

Well, then! There IS a circuit there. Lucky you...
Point being it had no down-side to trying it. If there isnt an Amp it aint gonna do anything.

Would it surprise you to find there's a load-leveler fuse position listed? Wanna bet you dont have it? But would it be cool if you stuck a fuse in there and it worked!

I put it in my sig a bit earlier, but it's not showing up.


I wrote what blazer I have in "Edit Signature" then clicked "Save Signature" and it shows up under the "Preview" part but it doesn't on my actual posts.
