Body part interchangeability

My daughters boyfriend wrecked his 2000 s10. It bent the bumper, radiator support, busted grill and radiator. I'm looking at a 97 blazer for the motor. Will the front end parts fit his truck? I know the grill is different but he is t worried a out that.

You might be able to look up the part numbers, on rock auto, or somewhere, and see if they match that of the donor vehicle.

I've also heard of parts interchange guides, but I've personally never used them before.

Sorry I don't have any better help, but maybe that will help you to get started.

There will be a number of differences between a '97 and a 2000. You can swap the grill but you will need to take the lights and rad support from the donor vehicle too. I'm not sure if the motor is easily compatible or not.

FYI for best compatiblity '96 & '97 are the same as each other for almost everything, and '98 and up are are primarily the same through the end of production. There are some styling differences but I believe the body and chassis parts are all interchangeable.

You can probably use the bumper no problem. If you use the core support you have to convert to the old style grill and headlights. Radiator should work if it has all the same options to it, like tranny and oil cooler etc. But yes the parts will bolt up to his truck.

Everything from the rad support forward is different between the 97 and 00. The bumper on the 97 is different too, it has the signal lights in it, and where it wraps around the side under the fender, it mounts differently(97 to fender, 00 to bolt on bracket). That said, it's all bolt on pieces.
