body swap

Has anyone attempted a body swap or taking a the body off of an older blazer?(1978) My body has a lot of rust and i found another 78 with a good body but no motor or trans, any insight will be awesome

It would be pretty easy using the same year bodies... A few friends to lift up the tub and you should be good. Just get the body mounts loose and disconnect the steering, transmission linkage, and wiring, then lift it up and over. Practice on your rusted out body!

You will want to check with your local DMV first though as the official VIN tag is tied to the body of the truck.

Thanks for your help, my blazer hasnt been registered in my name yet, its been off road use only, but if i use the title from the donor body to register with dmv and tags i should be good right?

I would still check with your local DMV, but if you have a clean title for the other body, I would think it would be no problem.
