Body Swaps
I know this has been discussed, but for some reason I didn't find what I wanted to know.
What I do know: My 90 FSB has almost completely rusted out. The body mounts are shot. There are no rocker panels. There are lots of holes in the floor. I can look to my left in the back seat and look outside (not using the window). When I close my fuel filler door, rust jumps from my wheel well. Oh, and my taillights are barely staying mounted.
Options:
Find a donor Blazer: been looking 6 months...
Put a pickup cab on it, add a cross member, and build/mod a bed.
So what is the newest cab I can put on there with minimal work? It also needs to hold at least 3 passengers without interfering with the 4wd shifter
Preferebly like this setup: Backseat
It is a 90 FSB 350, 4wd, gone carbureted

Ran the VIN, it is an '86. Started tearing apart my existing body, and found that the body mount brackets are shot. Rusted to heck. My existing body is kind of just sitting on the frame. Where can I get all new brackets?
Yesterday got the new "new" '86 body off the trailer. On the 90: Already pulled the front end off. Today, pulled the topper off the back (why are there bolts that are hidden?) The whole thing was siliconed to the body. Now it is not reusable (had to take a crowbar to it, and broke some fiberglass in the process). Also pulled both doors off. Tomorrow's plan is to cut the bolts off holding the body to the frame, pull the seats out, and maybe pull the windshield.
Pulled the wires inside the old body, and pulled my steering column, as the one in the donor is damaged. I knew the dash was welded, but I didn't realize @ the windshield, it is still easy to pull wires are pulling the 5 bolts. Oh yeah, everything that you see on the firewall has been removed.
