I think it would be a really cool idea, but I feel like it is going to be hassle to remove the door because of the electric cables and plus the weight of the door. Good luck on your project.

As far as your wires you can do what i did. Just go to radio shack and get yourself some connecters male and female. and just wire them up. I did this with my blazer, Quick and easy removal along with the clipped door hinge pins. I'll try and get my pics up soon. Sorry if my typing sucks i've been at work for the past 17 hours so i'm tired. But i hope this helps. good Luck

I'd love to see the pictures, I had to replace the door pins this weekend and I found out I need a quick disconnect for the wires

as soon as i find my camera i'll upload pics . In the process of unpacking right now. i just cut the tip off where the locking washer is, Drove both in from the top . Now all i gotta do is open door, unplug connecters, pop out hinges. simple and effective. now another neat trick for the Mirror issue. you can get a set of factory Harley Davidson Mirrors and bolt them into the Top of the upper hinges. I picked mine up for 10 Bucks a piece, No legal issues no Problems

As far as the quick connection for the wiring, I've used a standard trailer wiring connector on a few things in the past. Most recently I have my subwoofer connected like that, so one section stays with the sub and I disconnect the two RCA cables, unload the box to the garage and it frees up my cargo area in a hurry.
