dash swap
 

I have a 1998 blazer ls and the previous owner seems to have gotten mad at the dash or something it is in really bad shape. I found a 2002 zr2 blazer with a good dash just wondering if it will fit the 1998 blazer. I have read that there are some differences between the two vehicles. I just don’t know if the dash is different

dash itself will be the same, wiring inside the dash will likely have some differences. best bet would be to swap your wiring to the new dash.

Thanks for the reply Jamaroon.I got the dash swapped and went ahead and just used the wiring out of the 2002 zr2 as the wires in my dash were all butchered up. Before the dash swap none of the dash lights were working now they are the only thing that dosent seem to work and wasent working before the swap is the mileage indicator and the gear selector indicator on the instrument cluster i grabbed the one out of the zr2 may try it and see if its just a problem with the cluster. On a odd note after swapping the dash and not the steering column the blazer would not start security light flashing swapped what i think was the bcm black box on the front of the heater box from the zr2 and it started and ran fine.

glad you got it working, you could have also done the security re-learn and that should have worked too.
