dead power seat

got a 99 Bravada with heated power front seats. the driver side works fine but the passenger side is totally dead. its a pain to sit in as well since it died in a weird position, most of the way forward and the reclined far back. im thinking its a bad power motor if thats the case how hard are they to swap out?

does it move in any other direction ??
should be more than one motor
If no other function is working check the fuses , for some stupid reason I think the left and right seats are separately fused
If the fuses are ok also check the power plug under that seat

ill check the fuses if thats the case maybe there is no power to that seat. i turned the heated seat on and it didnt work. that seat is completely dead no movement no life nothing. i read about 3 wires for the power seats going across floor pans under the carpet then they fuse into one wire by driver kick panel. maybe my truck is too new but ill check

check your glove box for an owners manual
There should be a section regarding fuses there

There should also be a plug under the actual seat

ok i checked all the fuses could not find anything that specified the power seats. looked in engine compartment fuse block too. i found the heated seats fuse was blown so i replaced that one and the passenger seat still didnt work

did you take a good look for a plug connection under that seat ?

did you check your owners manual for a fuse guide? , index in the back of the owners manual
