Wanting to get rid of hood prop, has anyone changed over to struts? If so please explain details.

 

I've thought about doing this too. I was going to prop the hood up and measure to find the length I needed. I was thinking one on each side. The trick would be finding some that are strong enough to support the weight of the hood but not too strong so you couldnt shut it.

 

look at your grandmas buick
lots of them had gas charged struts and it would give you a pretty good idea on angles and distance from the hinge pivots
