How to prep before Spraying truck bed liner...
Hello everyone,
I am new to this board and looking to spray liner for the truckbed and entire floor of my 75 Blazer. I was advised to "media Blast" the current coating on my truck before applying liner as "Rhino-liner" or something like it would not stick over time.... Key problems: 1) I dont have money to pay a vendor to do this, and 2) I dont know how to do it manually. Can anyone advise me the best way to scrape, sand or do whatever appropriate to take off the sort of cheap silver colored coating on the floorbed, and truck bed areas. I wish I knew the name of it, and will try to get some pic's up soon if necessary.. I am not very mechanical, but can learn with some basic directions. Thank you in advance to anyone that can help or advise me...thanks. Ken |

You could try some scotch pads (from any parts store) to scuff the shine off the old paint so the new spray will adhere to the metal.

Im not sure what coating you are talking about, but if it is on top of the floorboards, a wire brush head for your drill should be quicker than sanding, just make sure you have a pretty diesel drill.
