illegal turn signals
 

does anyone know if it is illegal to have from turn siganels that are anything other than amber in color? if they are illegal is it a secondary ticket like seatbelts? what can teh cop do if i hav these in? how mucj is the fine? this is all in PA any help would be appreciated

in Ma, you are allowed to have clear lenses as long as the bulbs are amber, but its not really enforced. i see people with white, green, purple, even blue lights. but we cant have clear tail lenses (which i think looks cheezy anyways.)

I too am from Pa, I'm in Carlisle to be specific. It is illegal in the state of Pa to have non-amber turn signal bulbs, but as to whether or not it's inforced I guess depends on the area which you are from. Mt Holly Springs and Middlesex are 2 of the most anal retentive towns as far as cops and mods to vehicles go. The Carlisle cops here....they are not as strict as the other 2 towns, but if they pull you over for another violation, they may ticket you on it.

I would say go for it. I had a 99 dodge neon that was all modded and stuff and the Holly cops were the only one's out of the 3 mentioned towns to ever do anything to me about my tail lights. They gave me 1 week to get DOT approved tail lights or else they were going to actually give me a fine.

alright....cool.....i plugged the bulbs in behind the amber glass so it isnt too obvious if a cop is looking my way when my turning signals are on....i colored the bulbs behind the amber glass black with a sharpie so they only let a little light through so they don't drown out the blue lights...it still looks pretty cool with the blue and a little amber

Looks not bad but you should get some clear corners and then get the silver coated turn bulbs for the turn markers.Silver in color but actually light up amber.
Will give your ride a much cleaner front end look.

Basic laws are:

Light from front must be amber or white.
Light from rear must be red or amber.
All other colors are illegal. I believe green is emergency rescue vehicle.
If you get neons/LEDs, the bulbs can not be showing. Anything other than factory lights and foglights, I wouldn't have showing, or the cops'll get pissed. Reflected light is legal, but I doubt cops would approve of a mirror reflecting light.

Almost everything's illegal in Illinois. I have a friend that lives about 25 miles from Quincy (Camp Point). You can do anything in the country.
