I found out only two years ago that the 1st. gens in Europe had these flares vs. the American version.
Should probably go and look at the car breakers to grab as many as i can.
The guys who did the Alfa Romeo body were working on it many many weekends over 2 years.
Been two friends, one of which a great mechanic and the other a body guy.
Amazing work

The Alfetta GTV was known in the U.S. as "veloce" the lines designed by italian designer Giugiaro.
The Italian designator being "Alfetta GTV"
There was also a GT version featuring the 1.6 respectively the 1.8 liter engine.
GTV being an acronym for "Gran Turismo Veloce" aka. a fast sports tourer.
Couple pics to appreciate a beautiful design. 3/4 view characteristic tail
At barely 4m length (about 12.5 feet) and just over 1'000 kg (about 2'200 lbs) with full tank quite a little sports car.
2 liter 4cyl aluminium engine with 130 HP out of the factory. In 1978 when my serial #0024000 was built quite a force to be reckoned with.
At that time being a mass produced affordable car probably an American counterpart would be the Mustangs and Camaros of the late 70's.
In acceleration and even top speed no chance against the V8's but I would challenge anybody in a stock 70's car up and down our or the American mountains.
Featuring assisted 4 disc brakes on full A frame front and DeDijon rear with transaxle gearbox .
50/50 weight distribution front to back makes for impressive braking and cornering.
