Paint the interior!

Okay, I want to do some interior paint, and was surprised by how few results came up in the search.
Anyways, I was thinking about painting the dash bezel, center console, and the trim around the window switches white.
Any tips, links, how to's anybody wanna throw my way?

Over the years several members have taken paint to their interiors and posted pics of them, but I'm afraid you'll have to search them out.

I found a few earlier, but they didn't have much when it came to tips.

I also think the area around the door handles would look good, just another idea. If it's anything like it was when I painted my dash just make sure you do the proper prep work and you should be fine.

I wish I could remember what the paint I saw at advance auto was called but it was specifically for your interior. I'm guessing it would be similar to everything else you paint. prep work is key to have the paint last. depending if you want to keep the texture of the dash or not. it'd probably be easier to sand it smooth

Best I could find :icon_shrug:

I would paint mine but... what color do you paint a black interior of a black vehicle that you're blacking out? I think stock will do.

hey mine is blacked out. I'm considering painting some of the interior tan to match my seat

I've used SEM paint on my interior for dying and painting (non blazer though) and the results were amazing. No hard carpet and no flaking like paint. It bonds VERY well if you want a good product I suggest using SEM

Not sure if you want advice on WHAT to piant, or HOW to do it... but to do the plastic trim, there's some prep:

1. Remove trim
2. Wipe with a degreaser/detergent. I used Purple Power (Advance Auto).
3. "Rinse" with wet/moist towels.
4. Sand with 60 or 100 grit.
5. Wipe with a lint-free cloth using Mineral spirits. Be liberal with the spirits as this will slightly soften the plastic.
6. Use a plastic primer to prime.
7. Use the compatible paint to paint.
(the primer/paint is found at larger auto parts stores and is specific to plastic auto parts).

This will take time but will last pretty much forever. have fun!
