Default painting the dash trim and console.....tips????

I'm wanting to paint my dash trim, console, and some door trim. What is the best way to do it? I wanna do it properly. Best way to start obv is sanding. What grit? Do I need primer? Best kinds of primer and paint to use? Looking to do like a super glossy black finish.....no fiberglass lol.

prep is everything. Sand, with maybe 100 grit, just scuff up the surface. I would prime it, can only help. Then flat or gloss paint, flat goea on more even but gloss will be shiny. Then clear coat will protect and make it glossy as well. I painted mine and it looks amazing. I love it.

I would use 300-400 gritt sand paper, an adhesion promoter, a good primer, and then paint it. I would put a clear coat over it as well, gloss, matt or flat, depeding on how you want it to look

If you don't use primer and clear coat You'll probably end up with scratches through to the factor paint after a little while of regular contact with things.

Well I quickly decided against that after my buddy truned me onto plastidip. Fell in love with the matte finish and gonna have some fun with that.

Only thing I can add, and I think it's applicable to plastic dip as well, is clean it very good with some degreaser. If you have ever applied armor all, or a similar product, you can't clean it too much. Paint and silicone do not mix.

I've heard rubbing alcohol and water clean pretty well. Degreaser or that?

I think either would work pretty well. If you sand first then clean your pretty well set.
