Rear Window Trim Plasti Dipped (Photos and Video)
4 Attachment(s)
I get the feeling when you can't find something anywhere online, its a good opportunity to be the first. I found a couple people on here talking about it, and one poorly taken photo, so I decided to document how I Plasti Dipped my rear window's trim.
As many of you have experienced, this trim turns into crumbly gross, greenish-brown crap thanks to El Sol. I made it my weekend project to fix this. Below are the before and after pictures. I am currently making a YouTube video detailing it all. I noticed many on here aren't fond of long posts so watching the pictures move may be easier. |

Since I had trouble loading the pictures, here is my video... A little long, if you want to just see the before and after pictures fast forward to the last 10 seconds.

Thanks! The roof rack is next.

Great vid and great job - well done sir ! My roof rack is also starting to peel and I've thought in the past that Plasticoat would be a good solution.

How well is this holding up? Collecting much dirt?
|
Holding up very well. I'm surprised and impressed. So much so I plasti dipped my from bumper (chrome part).
Yesterday I went off road til the road ended in something I woulda got stuck in. I backed up with branches smacking the trim the whole time... No tears of anything. And no, no dirt clinging what so ever... I would recommend looking into bed liner instead though... I know it's permanent, but it looks as good but a lot more tough. |
