Receiver Tube for D-Rings
I've searched and searched for posts about this and all of them point to synergy offroad, however after going to their site I don't believe they make the product anymore. Does anyone have an idea as to how I could mount d-rings on the front of my blazer? Oh, and I have a 2001 (2nd gen) 2wd Blazer that doesn't have stock tow hooks.
Here's the link to synergy offroad receiver tube and d-rings: Chevy S10 ZR2 Receiver Tube Package fits Blazer Sonoma Jimmy |
And can someone post an up close picture of where the stock hooks mount? I haven't had much time to look up close at any with tow hooks.

Inside the front frame. There won't be holes drilled for them and the tubes might not even fit in the frame on yours. I have an xtreme s10 I needed to attaché a tow bar too and the tubes didn't fit in the frame. I had to mount them underneath.

I made my own for under $50 including all of the hardware and larger shackles. I bought the tubes from and shackle receivers from harbour freight. Check out my build thread I have detailed pics somewhere in the first 20 pages I think!

Found your post Rex, page 11, but it seems there's a difference in our frames. Where you mounted yours, and I'm assuming the stock hooks are located, it is flat. But my frame is angled down. So I'm not so sure how I would go about it. I'll post a picture in a minute to show what I'm talking about.

in your third pic is the frame tube rectangular box
remove the plastic over it |
Yes, it's rectangular. And I'd rather not take off the bumper today haha. In the second picture where the metal meets plastic is where that rectangle is, the third picture is just a front view of it.

in his picture the plastic is removed and the tube is inside
You will need to either completely remove the plastic or modify it to fit a 2" draw bar in there The stock hooks would likely fit in there without removal of the plastic |
second look , you would need to cut away the plastic
